Do you have trouble reading the small print on your cross-stitch pattern? Well, don’t feel too bad, even Dara Torres, the olympic swimmer has trouble seeing like she used to. It might be time for you to give in and get a pair of glasses. Zennioptical.com can save you money when you go to pick out your frames. They only sell their own manufactured frames direct to the customer. There is no middleman and they spend very little on advertising their quality frames. That means savings for you. Stop squinting and getting headaches when you work on your projects. Make an appointment to have your eyes checked and then order your glasses from Zennioptical.

When I took the class to learn what feature my sewing machine has, I learned that I have a foot to embellish with embroidery thread. The foot has a ridge with three bumps. Each bump holds a strand of thread. I couldn’t believe how easy and pretty it looked when I sewed three different colors of embroidery thread onto a piece of fabric. I am anxious to try this on a bag. I remembered a box of embroidery thread that I have had sitting in my closet. I used to cross-stitch but haven’t for many years. Now I have something to use all that embroidery thread. I am sorting through the box and organizing the colors. Be sure to take a look at the bag I made this past weekend. It is in the next post down.

You would have thought that with a 3-day weekend, I would have gotten more bags finished. I guess I spent too much time washing siding and laundry. I did make this bag and am getting ready to start a purple one. What do you think? Did I use too many patterns together?

In our business we install beautiful ceramic tile in shower areas and around bath tubs. We used to install towel bars in the shower area but have discouraged that practice. So many people were using them as grab bars to get in and out of the shower. They are not made to be pulled on and sometimes people would get hurt. It recommended that people install safety products made specifically for that type of use. At Go Wheel Chair dot com, you will find many products to make life more comfortable and safe.
The Suction Bathtub and Shower Assist Handle is a great product that is easily positioned where you need it. Simple installation and removal makes it a great product to take with you when you travel. They also have chrome-plated steel grab bars that can be installed permanently and are approved by the ADA. Use of simple products can make your life so much easier. By the way, they also offer wheelchairs, walkers, ramps, and mobility scooters at very competitive prices.
If you are like me and have the nickname, Clutzy, you keep crutches on hand. If not, use Go Wheel Chair dot com to purchase crutches and canes to use while recovering from your mishap.
As we age, we fall into physical conditions that require us to get aids to do the simple tasks. Go Wheel Chair dot com has commodes and other personal care items to aid us in normal daily tasks. This company has thought of everything. Let them help you make your home safe and comfortable.

Can you imagine seeing this much lavender in one place? Sonoma Lavender is a grower and manufacturer of more than 300 fragrant products and is not normally open to the public. But for one weekend every summer, the public is invited to experience a five-acre lavender farm in full bloom.

I planned to sew today but it is too doggone hot in the room where I sew. I have some custom blinds on my windows to keep out the sun but I think I waited too long to pull them down and block the sun. I didn’t have the air conditioner on either. The Indiana humidity hit hard today. It will probably rain this evening. I should know better than to think I can have my windows open in July. If you are thinking of buying new blinds, it is a no-brainer to buy them at NoBrainerBlinds. The have decorating advice to help you with your project. They are shipped directly from the factory. That means low prices on quality products. They don’t offer costly catalogs and they have low Internet overhead in order to keep their prices low. Their website is very easy to use to order the size blinds you need. You have to remember to use the blinds though if you want to keep the sun out. I guess that should have been a no-brainer.

I had fun making this bag. The lining has 3 pockets on each side. The fabric is quilt shop quality and the bag sits beautifully. I think I improve the options and style with each bag I make. I get comments from friends who say they like the bag to be able to close and have lots of pockets. I take their advice and add the things when possible.

I am like a whirlwind when I sew. Thread and pins are flying. My dogs know to stay out of the way when they hear the buzz of my machine. I have a lead foot when driving my car and I have to say that it is all systems go when I use my sewing machine. Put the pedal to the metal is my motto. I want to see the finished product. I attended a class today to learn about all the bells and whistles my new sewing machine has. I cannot wait to try them on my own time. I learned how to decorate with embroidery thread and ribbon. I plan to make some purses and try out these techniques. The fabric will be flying this afternoon!
I have to do a little cleaning before I sew. There are threads embedded into the area rug that sits under the table where I sew. I have to lug out my big vacuum and work at every thread to get them to surrender to the sucking of that machine. Or I use duct tape and get the threads picked up. The Dirt Devil AccuCharge would be so much more handy in my sewing area. It is Energy Star efficient and that means it isn’t using up valuable resources like my big vacuum does. I suppose I could go back to using duct tape to pick up all those threads and really save energy. I would rather have a cordless Dirt Devil AccuCharge vacuum. Besides, it is just so cute!

If you ever have a chance to go to a seminar put on by Pat Knoechel, please go. You will laugh and learn. She is an easy going person who has a way of explaining things that make things seem simple. She was putting pieces of fabric together and they made up patterns as if by magic. She was naturally funny. I cannot explain how she made us giggle. It was the way she moved her hands and talked. You just have to go. You can find her schedule on her website at Creating With Color. You will be inspired to put colors together that you had not considered. You will want to put together new quilt blocks. She spoke for a little over an hour and I thought 15 minutes had gone by.

If you don’t see me for awhile, here on my blog, it is because I am busy sewing. Or, I would like to be busy sewing. Tonight I am attending a seminar given by Pat Knoechel, sister of Eleanor Burns. If she is half as funny with her quirky ways as Eleanor Burns is, this is going to be a fun presentation. I have heard that she brings tons of projects that have been used in Eleanor’s television shows. They must use reputable international shipping services to get their huge trunks where they need to be. You thought that International Movers only relocated furniture for people who were relocating? Well, they do and they do a bang up job. The quality of service in an international move is like no other when you use International Movers. They are but one company recommended by Relocation.com. Relocation.com has all the necessary resources to assist you with your big move.
Back to tonight’s show. Pat will surely inspire me to try new things in quilting. She will teach how to use a new ruler designed to make both scallops and waves, as well as how to perfect old techniques. I am excited and will be back tomorrow to tell of all I saw and learned.
