Tweety Bird

October22

A friend asked me to make a bag for his daughter who loves Tweety Bird. Here is what I came up with.

At first I was going to make the whole bag out of Tweety Bird fabric but then my eye wandered over to some Batik fabric I had laying in my stash. It seemed like a better bag to make and one she can carry well after her teen years. What do you think? Should I have made the whole bag with the Tweety Bird fabric?

I just listed this bag on my Etsy site.

I like that you used two fabrics. I think if it was done in only Tweety Bird it would be too much. Very pretty.

The interfacing inside the purse is stable enough to make the Tweety bird purse stand up yet it is soft. I just love the feel of these bags.

Karen, I never thought sewing a bag is such a easy thing and thanks for enticing me to try it on my own. Can you please let me know how many hours or minutes you actually took to finish this super cool craft? Do you have any specific fabric suggestions like the zippers.

Both bags look great and I agree all Tweety would have been too much.

I like the Tweetie bag! I think it would look cute done in reverse too, with the Tweetie fabric as the main and the blue fabric for the middle part.
