Taking Time
I am having so much fun with my new sewing machine. I should say, I was having so much fun. I had so much work to do in our business today that I never took the cover off the machine. I wish there was some way to do the things we love without having to hold down a job. We could find the best baseball picks, exercise with a Wii or work on our tan without having to think about our jobs. I suppose that our hobbies are made all the more enjoyable because we value the time when we get to do them.
I picked up some rick rack to put on the prairie points bag. I felt like it needed a little something more. It won’t be too hard to take the lining apart to sew the trim on. Next I am going to make another prairie points bag in bright colors. I have 4 or 5 coordinating materials that have been hollering to be used. I hope everyone is having fun winding their threads. Whether you are reading a good book, watching a movie or sewing, I hope you take a moment to enjoy your hobbies.

Sewing is especially useful when ya go out and buy those extra long pants that need to be hemmed, also serves as good simple sewing practice.
That would be pretty sweet to have all the free time we could want. I think the government will make sure all of us have something to do. It’s their job to keep us busy so we don’t all get together and do stupid things.

I think everyone wishes that they could spend more time working on their hobbies than doing real work. For years I’ve enjoyed creating music. It’s a bit like sewing. There’s the technical knowledge and skill that you’re always adding to, and the artistic side, which flexes the creative powers of the mind– something most of us aren’t doing quite enough of in our lives.
When I get some courage I’m going to buy a sewing machine and start doing my own alterations instead of always asking friends. Wish me luck!
