Times have certainly changed in our business. When the previous owners told us the incentives they used to receive, we were blown away. Salesmen brought glassware, notepads, pens and even bicycles to earn their loyalty. At least we are still offered vacation packages. As dealers, we are motivated to sell the products of the distributor who offers a great vacation package. I think of it as dangling the carrot. It is a great tool that can be used to motivate employees and businesses. Companies are wise to use Bellwether Rewards to offer travel incentives.

I am going to finish the pinwheel topper that I started in class last week. I have to put the binding on and it will be finished. Yay! The baby quilt has a ways to go but if I finish this topper then at least I will have finished one class item.

We had a great time at the wedding. The bride and groom dated for 8 years and it was special to see them get married. Some people said, “finally” but they didn’t care. It was a beautiful heartfelt ceremony. The reception was nice but felt so hmm, how can I describe it. It was in an event center and each room was the same. I felt like if they would have used a theme it would have been made their own. They could have set up a Hawaiian theme with beautiful floral arrangements. If they had used pool chairs similar to the ones at Contract Furniture, more people would have danced. The relaxed atmosphere would have been enjoyable. Contract Furniture Company has beautiful commercial furniture for office settings as well as hospitality venues such as the one we visited. As it was, the room felt stuffy and formal. It needed windows, palm trees and a fountain.
