It has been very quiet in our store this week. It is this way every year when school starts. New clothes and school supplies are where the money goes this month. I’ve heard that the fees for books have increased. The price of lunch has gone up but it sounds like it is still a bargain. One county school in Indiana is preparing healthy lunches. I would pay extra for that. Our schools serve a lot of starchy food. I think it would help our kids keep the weight off if they could eat healthier food.

Two years ago, our church purchased our town’s old fire station. The city had built a new and modern facility. The old fire station has so much history. It sits across the street from our church which is almost in the center of town. Our church decided to purchase the fire station and turn it into a facility that could be used by our youth and the communtiy. It has been a long process to watch what the fire station has become.

Oh wow! We watched a great dvd last night. It was Fracture, starring Anthony Hopkins. I am still trying to figure out all the little details that made up the story. Anthony Hopkins plays an architect who is very eccentric. He has a wire gadget where you put metal balls onto the wires and depending on their weight, can glide down and around mazes of columns to reach the bottom. It takes calculations to figure out how to make it work. Another example of his intricate mind is his recollection of his grandfather showing him chicken eggs. He says something about dropping the eggs. I need to watch the movie again and see how that relates to the plot. Maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with the plot but is in the story line to show how eccentric the architect is.

Ryan Gosling also stars in this movie as a young lawyer who is seeking his way up the social ladder in the corporate world. He mistakingly lets his taste for better things get the best of him and he messes up. The case he messes up on involves the architect.

This movie’s plot is too intertwined to give any hints about why the architect is being prosecuted. You just have to watch it!

I love it when people find each other and find happiness as a couple. It is hard these days to meet people. Our fast-paced lives keep us from enjoying new friendships. If they could, the hummingbirds around here would fire me. I forget to fill their feeder and they have to go elsewhere for nourishment. The Finches have no problem with me. I only have to pour their food from a bag. The hummingbird food has to be boiled sugar water. I had to clean their feeder this time. It was covered with black mold. I think the sugar does that. I don’t want them getting a disease so I try to clean the feeder. I hope I’m in their good graces again.
