Don’t Be A Target

August8

As a small business owner there are precautions I need to take to protect my customers from data fraud.

After I collect data from a customers card I must always clear the data from my system. If left in the system it can be accessed by thieves who use it to create counterfeit cards.

I must maintain all software patches offered by the product vendor.

It is important to change passwords after utilizing a product. Don’t ever keep the vendors password.

Keep tabs on where your laptop, data files and paper files are at all times. Things have a way of walking off when you aren’t in control.
