Argggh! How on earth are you supposed to stop credit card companies from sending you applications. We get 3-4 each day! I used the 1 888 5 OPT OUT (1 888 567 8688) to stop credit card offers but I am still getting them. I wrote a letter to hmmm somewhere that was supposed to put a stop to it. I guess I’ll have to do it again. Now, to find that address…

Tidbits

July27

AOL reported The Bionic Woman as the show of the week. It does look very good. At first I thought the character of Jamie Sommers was being played by Jennifer Garner. It is really hard to tell on the commercial. Michelle Ryan is the actress playing the lead role. I think that Jennifer is busy with her baby for now.

I did see where the producers of LOST are bring the character Michael back. The last shots of him were when he escaped the island in a boat with his son, Walt, after betraying fellow Flight 815 survivors to the mysterious group known as the Others. I never watched last season at all. I wanted to wait until the dvd’s of it came out, which should be soon I think.

Ha! Did you see where the host of “The Colbert Report” revealed on Thursday night’s show that he broke his left wrist while running around the New York studio before taping a recent episode. The Colbert Report is a mock right-wing talk-show on Comedy Central.

Web Biographies

July27

I have been scrapbooking for 5 or 6 years now. It all started when I put some pictures together for Greg to show what he was doing in drama at the high school. It has evolved into so much more than scrapbooking!

Web Biographies are another fun way of getting your family’s history organized. Having a web biography is a fun way to tell and share your stories. Amateur family genealogists, people looking to create a family website, and scrapbookers are having so much fun with this website. There are extensive privacy protection options so you need not worry about your family’s private information being shared over the Internet.

Aquafina Bottled Water

July27

Aha! I knew it! I always suspected that Aquafina’s water was no better than our well water. Why were we buying it???

PepsiCo Inc. will spell out that its Aquafina bottled water is made with tap water, a concession to the growing environmental and political opposition to the bottled water industry. According to Corporate Accountability International, a U.S. watchdog group, the world’s No. 2 beverage company will include the words “Public Water Source” on Aquafina labels.

Be sure to read the rest of the article to see if you can understand what they are saying.

I think I am sticking with Cole Bros. bottled water. I like to carry it in the car. I know for a fact that it comes from a spring here in our town. Otherwise, I will be drinking our well water.

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

July27

While I was taking a picture of my new blinds, I saw the pillow that my friend got me when she was on vacation. It says, “If the Shoe Fits, Buy It In Every Color!” LOL I don’t know why she thinks I have so many pair of shoes! Crazy woman!

JustBlinds.com

July27

just-blinds.jpg. We’ve been slowly getting the new room done and put in a portable air conditioner so it doesn’t get too hot out there. A friend came in and put insulation in the ceiling while we were in North Carolina. We didn’t have to be home and live through that mess. Plus, it was so much easier to get it done while the dogs were being boarded.

Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon the room was always getting pretty hot even with the air conditioner running. I went to JustBlinds.com because I had such a great experience buying blinds for Greg’s room. I wanted to see what they had in the way of shutters or light filtering roller shades. They have such wonderful customer service and the blinds always come right to my door in just a few days. If you ever need anything in the way of window treatments, don’t forget to check them out.

So anyway, I picked out 10 light filtering shades and Lynn got them put up as soon as he could. All the brackets were included just as JustBlinds.com said they would be. It is unbelievable what a difference they made. I love them. They weren’t very expensive and I know that we will get our money back in air conditioning saving anyway.

I love JustBlinds.com!

Here’s a picture of our blinds.

Bionic Woman

July26

The Bionic Woman is coming to tv again. Will it be a total remake or re-imaging of the popular 1970s TV series about a female athlete who is given bionic strength? The sources say that Jamie Sommers will be equipped with a bionic eye in addition to her ear. Furthermore, the trailer describes her as “Better, Stronger, Faster,” the major catch phrase in the title sequence of The Six Million Dollar Man. 14 episodes have been produced and star Michelle Ryan as Jamie Sommers. The trailer looked intense. The air date is set for September 26, 2007.

Here’s what IMBD had to say:
A re-imagining of the popular 1970s TV series about improving a human woman with cybernetic implants. The story focuses on a brilliant college drop out, Jamie Sommers played by Michelle Ryan, trying to take care of her rebellious deaf sister, played by Mae Whitman, after the death of their parents. Her love interest, a college professor of Bio-Ethics played by Chris Bowers leads a double life and works for a secret government agency capable of improving humans with specialized nanites and bio-synthetic organs/appendages. The first attempt at doing so failed when the prototype Sarah, played by Katiee Shackoff, grew too powerful to control and decided she no longer wanted to be a lab rat and revolted. Using her military background, she managed to force her way out of the facility after killing many scientists. Sarah would latter lead to the near death of Jamie by driving a semi into her car. The crash killed the unborn baby within her, fathered by the professor. Through the work performed by the professor and the agency, he managed to save Jamie’s life by giving her a new arm, leg, eye, ear, and replacing most of her blood with the nanites, giving her great regenerative abilities. Originaly, Jamie rejects her implants angrily. The man in charge of the facility, played by Miguel Ferrer, reminds her that most of her now multi-million dollar body is owned by the government and that she could, at any moment disappear from the world. Jamie manages to leave and unknowingly has a chat at the bar in which she works with Sarah. The implants begin to activate and Sarah introduces herself as the version before her. After an attempt on the Professors life by Sarah, the two have a large battle which exposes both of their weaknesses. Jamie decides she will work for the agency and help it with its missions but on one condition: she still has control over herself and isn’t owned by anyone.

Guta

July26

There’s an up and coming band playing in the southeast. Guta is not your cookie cutter type of band. Instead they have a unique sound that will be remembered. At first you think they are in a jam fest and in a world of their own. Then they start rockin’!

You Design It They Will Create It

July26

I have found that I am not drawn to the fad jewelry that I see in the mall store advertising. I prefer a custom jewelry design. When I pick something from AJ’s Jewelry at Youdesignwecreate.com, I know that it will be a one of a kind piece. I can have an idea in my head, convey that idea to AJ’s Jewelry designers and they create a piece of jewelry that is unique to me. I like that so much better than something that everyone else is wearing.
Now, if you prefer to be in style, they have the latest fashions in jewelry too. In fact they have a large inventory of classic jewelry and modern trend setting fashionable jewelry. Then they have jewelry that is unique and different for people like me. AJ’s Jewelry has something for every style and for every budget!

I have been looking at AJ’s Jewelry and see that they have a line of nameplates. I’ve been looking for a resource for nameplates for hubby’s collections!

The quality of their work is outstanding. You will find years of pleasure from anything purchased from AJ’s Jewelry.
