Time to Quilt

July24

I told myself that if I set up my sewing machine here in my office, where I have to look at it every day, I would get some quilting done. Well, either I’m puting or we are running the roads.

I started a sampler quilt from Eleanor Burn’s book, Egg Money Quilts. The book is filled with sampler quilts that remind Eleanor of some of her favorite women. Her Aunt Edna made dresses from feed sacks and she is the one who taught Eleanor how to sew. Her Grandma ran a business selling eggs and Eleanor’s grandmother, who she called mom, was quite a baker.

Most of the quilts are shown in light pastel colors. I was drawn to the books quilts because of those colors. I usually go for the browns as in fall colors so I surprised myself.

I think I have four blocks made for the quilt I started and it is for a king size bed. I wonder if I’ll ever finish it.
