Fun Projects

Published by under entertainment

PhotobucketYesterday was a very productive day. I worked until noon in our store, dropped a few entrecards and gathered my sewing project to head over to my mom’s. While I dropped cards, I saw on my sister’s blog, The Sewing Mom, that she had already cast her vote for the presidential election. Well, that inspired me to do the same. I went to our courthouse and cast my vote. There were only 3 people ahead of me so the waiting time was very short. So, now it is done.

I spent all day and into the evening working on a baby quilt. You can see it on my Winding Threads blog. I have to have it finished by next Thursday.

I finished the quilt top that I made for our bed. (I was able to get the fabric I needed to finish it, Jules!)
I have to put the backing and batting with it and decide whether to hand quilt it, machine quilt it myself or hire someone to machine quilt it. I want to have my friend Sue machine quilt it but it would cost around $240 for her to do it. I probably have $200 invested in it already. Handmade quilts are an investment!

Don’t Vote

Published by under a bit of everything

but if you do not vote, do not complain. Do not complain about who was chosen to make decisions that effect your life.

I this wonderful, informative post on Connie’s blog, Brain Foggles. I cannot understand why people will not register and then vote. It boggles my mind. Do people not realize that people have and are still dying for our right to vote? There is no excuse for not voting. You can vote by absentee ballot the way my grown kids are expressing their votes.

I’m tagging five people to continue this meme and share this information the privilege of voting.

GO VOTE

Published by under a bit of everything

Did you vote today? I did my duty. It was easy because the polling place is next door to our house. I walked over there, cast my ballot and walked home. It is beautiful outdoors and I appreciated a chance to leave my office. I definitely had to show my driver’s license today. That is a new requirement here in Indiana. I’m glad I remembered to take my purse. I had to declare a party. That irks me.
