I am in the mood to start another quilt project. I have made several purses the past week and am ready for something different.
The last big quilt I made is on my bed! I catch myself peeking at it to make sure that I really did finish such a big project. After painting the walls, washing the curtains and putting back our sleep number bed, the room is complete. It is comfy.

Lynn wants to put a television in our bedroom but I don’t want one in there. I have heard that if you work on your computer, watch television or work on other tasks, it is harder for your brain to relax in that particular room. I don’t want to have any problems falling asleep.

Just before Christmas, I finished a king size quilt for our bed. After about a week of sewing, I finally finished the pillow shams to match the quilt. This is what I made.

I had never sewn piping before so I decided this was the time to try. I will be posting a tutorial on piping and how to make it, on my Winding Threads blog.
I like my new shams and they might get me to make my bed everyday! LOL

My tackle today is to finish this rag quilt. I only have to sew around the whole quilt and it will be ready to send to my daughter. Stacy, my daughter, picked out the colors and cut the squares. My mom and aunt marked the squares for me. Wasn’t that nice? I sewed x’s on the squares and put the blocks together with the batting. Stacy is going to snip the edges so they will ravel. How do you like this rag quilt? I love the colors she chose.

I need your help. I won a contest over at FeeFiFoto. For the whole summer I get to have one favorite photograph incorporated into a landing page on FeeFiFoto. Here lies the problem. How do I choose a favorite photo? Which one would you want to see on FeeFiFoto? Take a look at the site to see Laura Williams picture and get a feel for what would look nice. Laura won the winter contest. Aren’t her muddy kids absolutely adorable?
I need some help! PLEASE! I told her I would get a picture right over to her and I cannot decide. Should it be a picture of my puppies on a quilt that I made?

Or should it be one of my favorite pictures of my hubby and me?

Or this one? (I was happily holding a Northern Pike until the slimy thing started to slip. EEW!)

Sewing, carpet business, sewing, carpet business. I keep going back and forth because I am excited to get working on the projects we learned in quilt class yesterday. However, duty calls and I must get something done in our business. If I quit letting distractions get the best of me, I might get to sew later this afternoon.
One of the best things we did for our business was to install wireless security cameras that show us when customers arrive. I found it hard to concentrate on bookwork when hearing noises coming from the store. I would check the showroom but sometimes find that it was the wind and not a customer making the noise. Now, I can watch the security camera projection on my television screen and concentrate on ordering floor covering.

You would think that 3 ladies who can read patterns and figure out how to make beautiful quilts could drive from one quilt shop to the next without getting lost. Let me say that these two let me drive to lands unknown.
We saw parts of Indiana we had never seen before. It was a beautiful day and the Spiraea were in bloom.
It was a nice day to be driving the countryside. It would have been enjoyable even more had we not been intent on visiting a quilt shop before it closed for the day. We made it by a few minutes.
