I spent this afternoon painting all of our outdoor furniture. I went through a bunch of cans of spray paint and my fingers are very sore again. They just recovered from weeding on Sunday! I cannot wait to hit my allergy bedding tonight. The pollen is so thick that it leaves a film on the cars in our area. Just think what gets inside our sinuses.

Oh, I have to tell you that I used 4 cans of cheap white spray paint. Now, I didn’t know it was cheap and just thought I had to use tons of it to get the result I wanted. When I found an old can of Krylon white spray paint in my husband’s workshop, I used it and it was so much better. It went on evenly and didn’t run. Who knew there was a difference in the quality of spray paint?

I had an enjoyable week last week while visiting my daughter in Florida. She lives in what used to be an office building. In fact, half of the building is still offices. The rest of the building has been turned into loft apartments.

I felt at home in her spacious home even though it was completely opposite of the carpeted, drywall to the ceiling type of home in which I live. Her entertainment centers hold all her game programs such as Wii and whatever else the others are. I am not up on all those things. Her furniture fits the decor of cement and pipes, adding just the right amount of fabric to give the place a homey feel.

Those of you who know me know that I am a quilter. Well, Stacy would not be my child if she did not have a few quilts around her house. They add warmth yet are just eclectic enough to maintain the modern feel of her space. Full of brushed chrome and wide open spaces, her place felt like a place I could call home.

We don’t normally allow our dogs to get on the furniture but Brody has taken a liking to my Christmas table runner. I suppose he things I made it just for him. It does fit him rather nicely. LOL

I am so excited for my daughter. She has been looking a long time for a retro kitchen set. She could have settled for discount furniture that was imitation but chose to wait. While visiting friends she discovered they were buying new furniture and would be selling their kitchen table and chairs. They were just what Stacy was looking for. She had teased the couple by saying if the table and chairs were missing not to worry or some such sentiment. They must have thought about her wanting the table because they offered to sell it to her! Woo hoo! She said she got it at a fraction of what they had paid. You gotta love that!
