How Much Longer

will my laptop last? I have not seen my laptop for two weeks because it is, once again, at the repair shop. I think they have had it more than me. Sigh. I am resigned to reading laptop reviews to decide which type of laptop I should purchase to replace it. I don’t need a dvd player but it seems that they all come with one. Most computer purchases entail laptop bundles.

I am intrigued with the mini laptop systems. Mini Netbooks have 1.66GHz of netbook power that would allow me to browse as efficiently as I am used to. I learned, the hard way, that a 17″ laptop is not very handy. I like the 10.1″ size offered with the mini. I just want loads of memory and a fast system. I cannot believe I am having to think about this. Grrrr

One Little Screw

is all it took to mess up my laptop. I wish there was a wholesale laptops business where you could buy parts for your laptop. A small, teeny, tiny screw fell out of the frame that holds my screen together. The frame was separating and became so out of whack that I could not even close it. What a pain. Thank goodness, I have a warranty on my laptop and was able to send it in to be fixed.

It would have been a lot easier to put in a teeny, tiny screw.

On a good note, I went shopping today and bought a new dress. The things we resort to when our laptops are not at home. Sigh.

Problem Solved

I love my son! I thought I had lost all my important spreadsheets because I accidentally bent my jumpdrive. I had to hold it a special way to make it work. That was not a secure way of storing my important work. I had spent hours working on most of those spreadsheets. To lose them was not going to make me happy. I have tried different types of small jumpdrives to find one that met my needs. They would all be bent eventually. My son came up with the idea of using an external hardrive. Woo hoo! I have all my information stored there and it has HDMI mini cables that plug it into my computer. One cable is to plug in the hard drive and the other cable is to keep it safe from power surges. At least that is how my computer repair guy explained it. All I know is that it is big enough that it doesn’t get bumped and bent. My son is a smart kid.

So Sleek

Apple makes the coolest designed computers. I don’t know enough about computers to know which brand of computer is better. Any type of computer suits me as long as I can get online. I know there are people who need and/or want all the bells and whistles. I just like the Apple computers because they look so cool. The news ones are so sleek. Remember when they had different colored imacs? I wanted a purple one so bad.

The basic version of the imac, now comes with a 2.4GHz processor and additional ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB memory, and all at the same price of a $1199.

Apple has also introduced a new family of 3.06 GHz processor imacs, that come at a price of $2199.
