The Old and then the New

Published by under entertainment

I saw this on All Stace, All the Time and she found it at Stacie’s Madness. My daughter’s name is Stacy. I don’t know what that has to do with anything but I thought this was a fun meme. Hey! It beats washing dishes and cleaning bathroom lighting fixtures. So, here goes:

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before? I went snowmobiling in Breckenridge, Colorado. It was so much fun.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No resolutions for me.

3. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve? Went to friends who have been our friends for over 30 years.

4. Did anyone close to you die? My brother in-law died of ALS.

5. What countries did you visit? Countries? No countries visited.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? More time to sew.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? December 23rd will always be remembered for the day my brother in-law died.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I showed three of the quilts I made in a guild show.

9. What was your biggest failure? Gaining back the weight I lost.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Discovered the pain in my jaw has a name. Neuralgia

11. What was the best thing you bought? My Janome 6600 sewing machine. I think I bought it in 2009.

12. Where did most of your money go? Towards vet bills, a wedding and fabric!

13. What song will always remind you of 2009? It’s a Wonderful World. I danced with my son to that song at his wedding.

14. What do you wish you’d done more of? visited with friends

15. What do you wish you’d done less of? worry about money

16. What was your favourite TV program? I love Cake Boss

17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Not really. I just shake my head at inconsiderate people who think the world revolves around them. I learned that when people treat waitresses mean, they aren’t my friends.

18. What was the best book you read? Fried Green Tomatoes

19. What was your greatest musical discovery? Michael Buble. Oh yeah!

20. What was your favorite film of this year? I love Julie and Julia, The Blindside and The Proposal

21. What did you do on your birthday? I think I went to Florida. That may have been the previous year though. They kinda run together.

22. What kept you sane? … blogging

23. Who did you miss? My kids.

24. Who was the best new person you met? I don’t know.

25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009: That people who want to be your friend on their terms are not worth my time. I have true friends.

You Might Want to Upgrade

I think an upgrade is in order…again…sigh.

From WP
esterday a vulnerability was discovered: a specially crafted URL could be requested that would allow an attacker to bypass a security check to verify a user requested a password reset. As a result, the first account without a key in the database (usually the admin account) would have its password reset and a new password would be emailed to the account owner. This doesn’t allow remote access, but it is very annoying.

We fixed this problem last night and have been testing the fixes and looking for other problems since then.

Suggestion to Entrcard Users

I have had so much success with Entrecard. This site has introduced me to so many great bloggers. There are so many blogs that I simply have to read each day. I feel like I know these people. I am drawn to the blogs who write about their kids, cooking and every day life. I suppose it is because they experience their days much the way I do!

If there is one thing I could recommend to those who use Entrecard, it would be to keep your avatar the same. Don’t change it once you make it something that is recognizable. I hate to admit this but I don’t know the names of some of the blogs I read but I sure do know their Entrecard Avatar.

For example, look at JoanJoyce.com. Who can forget that great avatar! Oh, and the name of the blog is JoanJoyce.com, Making Cents and Scenes from the Philippines. I love that blog!

Bloggerwave

I enjoy writing reviews on my blog. I write about items I find useful and items I want to bring to everyone’s attention. What better way to do that than to work with Bloggerwave? I am thrilled for the chance to make money by writing about items and services. Bloggerwave aims to be Europe’s biggest advertising media on blogs and I am thrilled to be along for the ride.

Code can be ugly

I am so happy when I am finally able to do something with code and it works!  Thanks again Techie for your help.  I was able to backup my database.  Now I’m on to installing a few fun things.

Predicting Your Page Rank

Page ranks are being reassessed and many bloggers are showing low page ranks compared to what they usually have. Page rank or PR is a system for ranking web pages to show how much traffic that page receives. It is important to those of us who write advertising in our posts. Some advertisers only want bloggers with high PR’s to take their opportunities to advertise for them. At iwebtool.com you can check to see what their predicition is for your blog. It will be fun to see what Google determines is my PR compared to the prediction I found at iwebtool.com.
