Heads or Tails or Pack the Cat

This weeks theme at Heads or Tails is the word pack. When I first thought of the word pack it instantly meant packing a suitcase. Years ago we took care of my parent’s yellow striped tabby cat while they lived in Saudi Arabia. Cats were eaten in that country and my parents decided not to take a chance with our precious Goldie. When my husband and I would pack our suitcase, Goldie would sit in it as if to say, “you are not leaving without me!” That cat had such a neat personality.
This picture is similar, (I don’t have a cat), to what our cat looked like while sitting in our suitcase.

Heads or Tails #118 Gone Fishin’
The theme for Heads or Tails this week is “Heads~Gone Fishin’.” Make any kind of post about anything you might see, use or do while fishing.
I was thinking about how we fish around to give ideas for what others can get us for Christmas. I also thought about cute pictures of my hubby when he was a little boy. He fished quite a bit with his dad. Then, I found this video, “Why I don’t ice fish.”

Heads or Tails Cause
The theme for today’s Heads or Tails is Cause.
A cause that is dear to my heart is the funding for researching a cure for cancer, particularly, Breast Cancer.
Another wonderful organization is Women for Women International.
The Carried Away Team, of which I am a member, (a blogging community of makers of handmade bags and purses), is supporting Women for Women International. This organization supports women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can rebuild their lives.
Carried Away is holding a giveaway called Change Purses for Change. It is the hope of the team, to raise awareness for this great cause. Check it out and enter the giveaway.
Take a look at the beautiful purses you have a chance to win:

They Build It! Heads or Tails

This week at Heads or Tails, the theme is “build.” Make any kind of post using any form of the word “Build.”
When I think of build, I think of the amount of effort the artists put into making sand art. They spend all that time only to have it wash away. I am sure they get enjoyment from their work. Why else would they do it? Here are some examples of sand art.
Oh, and if you have time, take a look at my latest project in the post below. Tell me if you think the colors are too dark, please.

Heads or Tails #103

This week’s theme at Heads or Tails is “pail or “pale”. Make any kind of post using either theme/prompt. You can even use both.
If you want to join the bloggers who participate in Heads or Tails, simply click on the picture and you will be taken to the Heads or Tails website. It is easy and fun and you will meet many nice bloggers.

Me and my son celebrating his first birthday. Myrtle Beach 1986.
What are my fondest memories of visits to the beach? It is taking my kids and watching their faces as their feet touched sand for the first time. I loved using pails and shovels to build castles out of sand and letting them bury me up to my neck. Fun times!

Heads or Tails “List Three”
The subject for this weeks Heads or Tails is List Three.
I have three favorite movies. Actually, I have many favorite movies but these are the first three that came to my mind.
The first one is Shawshank Redemption. I love how the bad guy gets his just reward in the end. Muwahaha!

My second most favorite movie is Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Oh my goodness did they have great chemistry. Any more heat and the audience would have needed an AED. LOL

Third third movie is Heidi with Shirley Temple. Can you believe it was made in 1937?!! I wonder how old Shirley Temple is. Do you know?

Heads or Tails #78
This week at Heads or Tails, my friend Barb, or Skittles as she is fondly known, gave us the following incentive for thinking outside the box. Make any kind of post using “Legend” as your prompt.
The first thoughts that came to my mind are legends of the film industry.

Clint Eastwood
Kirk Douglas
Humphrey Bogart
Robert Dinero
Al Pacino
Wow! I am thinking of some pretty old guys. Who are the legends of today?

Heads or Tails #72 Three Things Learned

This weeks Heads or Tails theme is Tell three things you learned in 2008. Visit Heads or Tails to see what others had to say about the three things they learned in 2008.
You can list educational, moral, political, spiritual, physical, intellectual, mental.. anything you like. You can even do sets of threes if you’re really ambitious. You can be as specific or general as you wish.
1. I have learned to be content with being home. I used to think I had to be out and about all the time. Now it seems I am happiest when I have a quilt project to work on and have time to see some results.
2. I learned that not all roads parallel each other. When you drive in the country, you might think you will end up where you planned. It doesn’t always work that way.
3. I am not responsible for everyone at church feeling comfortable. Some people just don’t want to be there. They say we aren’t friendly and there isn’t much I can do to change their opinion.
Wow, this got kinda philosophical didn’t it? Well, that’s how I feel.
