Bionic

It seems I am on an all things bionic kick. First I started watching those Anime movies of my roommates, which consisted of cartoon Bio-people. Some cyborgs and whatnot. Now I’ve just received the new Bionic Woman series and watched the whole season in one sitting. I like the characters, and the actors, this series is very well done. I never watched the original series, but this bionic woman is less bionic than human, I think she has more heart even though all but one of her limbs was replaced. The villain in the show is super awsome, although there may be more than one. Eventually the bad guys become the good guys and there are more bad guys introduced. Up next is Nip/Tuck. . .

TMNT

Anybody see the newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie? It is out on DVD now, but I still haven’t seen it. I had no interest until recently. The movie is computer generated and in my opinion can’t possibly be as good as the first three were. Nothing beats the cartoon versions though. I used to watch them on saturday mornings, and played the old school Nintendo version. My friends and I (J may remember), would pick our favorite and whoop some imaginary bad guys. I am reminiscing because my roommate now thinks I am a Ninja Turtle. Not because of my super sneaky ninja skills, but rather because of the amount of pizza I eat! Cow-a-bung-a y’all!!!

Movie Time

I went and saw Cloverfield last night. This was the first (and probably last) time in a long while that I went to see a movie on opening night. I have this theory that every now and then you should try doing something you don’t like just to remind yourself why you don’t like it. Like pickles, I hated pickles but I tried eating one when I was at my parents and decided that they are not so bad. Movies on opening night on the other hand. . . I guess I don’t like crowds or people in my personal space bubble. It seemed like every time I tried to move in a direction someone hurried in front of me only to go slower once they got there. Anyhow I’m still digesting the movie and forming an opinion. It was all shot to seem like a home video. There were warnings outside of the theater that motion sickness may occur. So, mom you won’t want to see this one. It was very unique and seeing the monster didn’t ruin the movie like it sometimes does. Cloverfield will leave you thinking, as does any thing by J.J. Abrams.

Waiting for Sweeney Todd

My mom is mad at me because I got her hooked on Johnny Depp. Lol. It was not my fault!

We have been talking about his movies and she forgot that he was in Benny and Joon. Oh my gosh! That is one of my favorite movies. In fact, I think I have the DVD. I crack up everytime I watch Johnny, as Sam, as he walks the rolls around with forks and then they start dancing. That is a cinematic moment! I also love the part when Johnny, as Edward Scissorhands, drug his fingers along the wall. Normally that would not be a big deal but you have to remember that his hands were scissors. Get it? Edward Scissorhands? Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Hold on though! My absolute favorite line is in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest. In fact, I have this line quoted on my My Space website, which you can check out, and then visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace. Jack Sparrow says to Elizabeth, “I like to wave at them as they pass by.” This is his reference to Elizabeth’s comment that he has honorable moments.

Every movie that Johnny Depp is in is a favorite of mine. I cannot wait to see him in Sweeney Todd. You can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site and see the trailer for this great movie.

Revenge Unexpected

One of my favorite places to catch up with friends is on My Space. Did you know that you can find out more about the new Johnny Depp movie when you visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace? Check it out!

Check out how Sweeney Todd Seeks revenge when he is unjustly put in prison. His wife and daughter suffer because of what happens to him. It is a harsh and horrible place that he is in when he vows to get revenge. His trade as a barber comes in handy when those who wronged him come in to get spruced up. Sweeney Todd has a way of making them disappear! Mu wah haha! You can watch the trailer when you visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site.

In Justin Timberlake’s video, What Goes Around Comes Around, Justin’s character gets revenge for a betrayal. The thing about the revenge is that it comes in a way that he does not expect. Revenge is like that. Even when you don’t seek revenge, you are able to still see it happen.

Justin’s girlfriend betrays him by seeing someone else. Justin catches them in a romantic encounter. A series of events lead to a car crash and revenge is his. What goes around comes around.

Mom’s afternoon off

So for mom’s afternoon off today we met with a friend and had some lunch at Red Lobsters!  I haven’t eaten there in so looooong.  It was scrumptious, I had a pasta with crab meat.  Then we went shopping, yes again.  I came home with a good haul, new sheets and some spiffy boots.  Also got Daddy a Christmas present which I need to wrap.  It feels like my vacation is so short, I think that’s because it gets dark at 5:30pm.  Then it’s time for dinner and a movie.  We went and watched Enchanted last night, it was a very cute feel good movie with Susan Sarandon as the evil step mother.  Mom and I enjoyed it but Dad said the best part was when the little chipmunk pooed a nut!!

I think the Movie sounds good

I recently received a  message not to let my children (which I don’t have) watch the upcoming movie “The Golden Compass”, because it was completly anti-christian.  I have seen the previews for this movie and was intrigued so I immediately went and purchased the book.  Has anyone else read the book?  I have just finished it and it in no way bashed religion.  It did however express an Idea called Dust.  Which pertains to the fact that as humans get older they discover more about what is right and wrong.  The adam and eve story is cited in the book stating that adam and eve had no Dust until they ate from the tree of knowledge.  I don’t know how closely the movie follows the book, but just like Harry Potter and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this movie is based on fantastical fiction, and may be a bit on the extraordinary side with talking Polar Bears, Hot air balloon riding men, gyspies, and whiches which are all on a mission to save children.  Also there is the idea that one could travel between universes or planes if one could ride the Aurora (northern lights).  I haven’t read the other two books in the series, and the triliogy is called “His Dark Materials” but I didn’t understand why.  Maybe when I read the next two books I will find out.  And if the Author is an Atheist he has helped to deepen my faith in God because of the points he makes in his book that children are to young to understand.

30 Days of Night

I watched what was supposed to be one of the scariest movies ever. 30 Days of Night was disappointing. This movie is the tale about evil that terrorized the town of Barrow. Darkness overtakes the land and the sun is not seen for 30 days. Hoping to save the town becomes the mission of the husband and wife police team.

The movie was ok but it was not a thriller.

Needed: A Real Scary Movie

Actually it was a spoof on so many movies that I could overlook the dumb comedy and was amused at the movies spoofed. Saw, Saw II, The Grudge were just a few movies spoofed. There were a few other spoofs like when it made fun of how Tom Cruise acted on the Oprah show. What a ditz.

Great Movie

Ok, I am finally ready to tell you why I liked the movie, The Kingdom. It is my kind of movie because of the action. I am so into action. The underlying story that the movie is about bothers me during these times of misconception. I mean, people are quick to judge when they do not understand another country’s beliefs. I go to the movies to be entertained. So, I was impressed with the photography and the stunts. I would recommend the movie to my friends.
