Lads and Lassies

How on earth are we supposed to figure out which restroom is ours when we don’t speak the language? I once tried to use the restroom at a seafood restaurant. They had names on the restroom doors that were so weird that I had no insurance quote that I was entering the correct room. It was scary. This sign is self explanatory for sure!

I wish every restroom sign was blunt like this one! I was almost to the point of crossing my legs while standing at the door trying to figure out which room to enter at the seafood restaurant. Then there are the restaurants where you count on the women’s being in the same place. Cracker Barrel is one such place. I always know to turn to the right. Well, I cannot trust them. They switched it on me and I almost ended up in the men’s restroom. Waahhh! How embarrassing!

   Great sign! But what to do when you have a business where the ladies go left and the gents right? Hang it upside down?

   I was once in a restaurant that had confusing signs. I could see the restrooms from where I sat, and happened to look up as a woman walked into the men’s room. Hmm? Well, it wasn’t crowded, she went in, apparently did her business as she was there for awhile, then as she was walking out, a man started into the door. She directed him to the other door. So, he went to the ladies room and took care of business there. A few minutes later, on HIS way out, a couple of women were headed in. He helpfully directed them the other way…. and yes, I was giggling like a kid by this time… they ladies went into the men’s room, but I guess they noticed urinals or something because they came running out very quickly. Game over.

   There are other store and restaurants that actually have photos or pictures which help most especially to those who has different language. Also, there are people who literally can’t read, so good if many would just opt to put a photo instead. Somehow it just means being considerate to everyone.

   It has been becoming a problem for identifying the restrooms. The sign symbols have to be given to identify them.

   I can’t stand it when restaurants have confusing bathroom signs!! Wish I could see your picture, but, photobucket’s not being nice! LOL

   Connie – hilarious!! Can you imagine if you were at the table with a gaggle of your girlfriends? Would’ve made for some really great laughs!!
