My grandmother used to sew the neatest things and sometimes they were exactly that very very small.

I really like how unique those items were and she was always surprising us. She was one of those very blessed that have a very artistic talent and believe me she touched a lot of peoples lives!

Aha! so that is the secret. I should reverse the order of my sewing and make the larger seams last. Thanks for the great advice. I hope you are able to enjoy time to sew.

Norrkoping Sweden, October 18th, 2009
Hi!
Nice to meet you!

I am planning to make small pouches for my jewellery (that I make and sell on line), so I am interested in looking at how other people sew these small, small fabric-bags.
I have made a lot of doll clothes (as well as cloth-dolls), not so much Barbie-clothes, but garments for larger-sized dolls.

This experience has taught me to reverse the order of sewing the tiny garments. In general I start with the hems first and end with the side-seams. Otherwise you cannot get it sewn on a machine. Even though I sew alot of the visible parts by hand, many of the basic seams are sewn by machine for strength and speed.

I am planning to start a blog about this, but right now I don't have the time to launch it. Two energetic kids aged 5 & 7 plus a somewhat over-worked and sour hubby keep me busy!

Best wishes
Christina Wigren (Anna)
