Smartstrand is definitely a new take on the carpet industry. Although I’m not sure if its able to rival with hard wood flooring and rugs.

Great post on Smartstrand! I know it’s actually a pretty big deal for a new fiber to get it’s own classification. Nylon has been king for a while. I think Smartstrand is here to stay in the carpet world. It will be interesting to see if Surona catches on in the rest of the textile world.

That’s intese, I had no idea that carpet could get so complex. I guess it’s just like any industry there is science behind it all, and a lot of times you never get to see all the science that’s behind something.

Triexta is truly the next best thing. Just as many people through hardwood flooring was back in the day, I think both will stand up against the test of time.

Dang!! I need to take a course just to understand all that. Who’d have known carpets and flooring was so detailed. You must have the graduate degree in flooring by now.
