Metal Campers?

My daughter, who thinks living in an Airstream camper would be very cool, and I were discussing the pros and cons of living in any type of camper when we decided to look up information about Airstreams. We discovered that Vintage Campers, an online site, has pictures of the inside of these nostalgic campers. If you can imagine what was used in the 1960′s for floor covering and add the popular colors for that era, you might be able to picture the sleek design of an Airstream camper. They were built for functionality in those days compared to the frills that the newer models of today.
I loved the pink appliances pictured in one of the fancier models. The word linoleum comes to mind when looking at the marbled floors in the photos. The bathrooms were built just big enough to take a shower and use the toilet. I am not sure you could fit a book in the stall along with yourself. In fact, the area looked to be tight enough that you might need to take a shower while using the toilet.
We looked at the Airstream website to see what the models of today are like. Oh my goodness! Can we say luxury?!! Of course the price is quite a bit higher on the new campers. You can choose models with cherry wood cabinets, laminate flooring and a tv stand for as many flat screen televisions as you need. Comfort outweighs function in the models of today. I think I could live in one of these.
One Response to “Metal Campers?”

I don’t think I could stay in one for very long. It makes me think of an oven every time I see one. I feel like I would be cooked inside it on a hot summer day!
