Icy Roads Change Our Plans

Published by at 11:35 am under entertainment

Today was the day I planned to join the ladies of our quilt guild in a day of quilting. We were to bring our UFO’s, (unfinished objects), and hopefully finish some projects. There were to be instructors attending who could help us if we needed guidance. Well, I am not driving on ice so I won’t be going.

fly fishing

My husband, Lynn, had planned on attending the fly fishing show, Indiana on the Fly, in Indianapolis. He sure as heck won’t be driving on icy streets to get there. It is not worth the risk of someone sliding into our car or us going into a ditch. Today will be spent watching fishing shows on tv and making quilt tops.

Oh come on Karen!!!! Chicken!!!! You mean you can’t drive on the ice…..just kidding…When it gets icy around here it is not a pretty site at all. Staying inside on an icy day can be just heaven.
By the way, I saw your family picture at Lynne’s blog. Great picture.

For a few years, I went to college in the mountains. I saw more accidents because people did not know how to drive in the ice and snow.

To me, the key is prevention as well as being a good defensive driver.

I don’t blame ya Karen! I had to go out on roads earlier and me and my car came up close and personal with a snowbank. Thankfully my husband was driving a head of me in his work truck. He got me on my way. No one was hurt but I did damage the front end on my car. Thankfully I made it home in one piece.

So yeah, stay off the icy roads!

I find the thought of driving on ice a bit terrifying actually. We don’t have snow or ice over here, so not having a lot of the traction I’m used to is something I’d rather avoid if I can. :O

I love the name “UFO” that is so cute! I was always scared of snowy and icy roads and hated driving on them.
