Gift Giving

Published by at 8:59 pm under a bit of everything

exerciseSo, what did everyone receive for Christmas this year? Did any of you receive a Wii Fit? I sold mine. I didn’t want to feel that dread every day when I saw the box sitting there unused. I admit it. I am an exercise drop out.

I wonder what the most popular gift was this year. Was it perfume or replica watches? Most families give practical gifts like pajamas and socks. Dads receive ties and moms receive earrings. Is that how it is at your house? What was the most popular gift for toddlers and preschool aged children? Not having any that age, I feel out of the loop.

I know of families who don’t exchange gifts at all. They donate money to a charity or they buy gifts for a family and make their Christmas brighter. So many people barely have money for food and utilities. It is nice that their lives are made better if only for a moment.

Tomorrow begins a new week. I hope to get my Christmas decorations put away.

I’m selling my WiiFit too… my mom really wants it, and I don’t think I’ve turned on the Wii in a couple months. So instead of sitting around feeling guilty about it, I’m selling the whole package to her when she gets paid on the 16th.

We gave gifts to T, but not to each other. We’ve been playing tons of Wii, lots of new games for Christmas. It helps me get up and move off the couch and the racing games keep my heart pumping! LOL

We bought Rock Band 2 for our Xbox 360, it comes with a guitar, a drum set, and a microphone. My husband is turning into quite the drummer, and Nathan and Ryan are pretty decent guitarists. I’m okay on the drums and lousy on the guitar :P

Ryan got CDs, Nathan got this Iron Man action figure that talks and has weapons and stuff, Kaitlyn got My Little Ponies and a Baby Alive doll that makes cooing and giggling sounds. I gave Chris the Star Trek Next Generation Season 3 box set and a Phillips Alarm clock that you can upload your own music too, he gave me a Nintendo DS Lite with a case and a game. It was a very wonderful Christmas and I feel very fortunate!

Good for you. I would rather have the money and just use my treadmill.

We got Rock Band 2 also, but I know a lot of people that wanted a Fit. I’d say video games were probably the biggest gifts this year. We don’t have a Wii, but I admit I’d probably want a Fit if I did. It’d probably just sit there unused with the Dance, Dance Revolution I have for XBOX. :(
