Books That Help Kids

PhotobucketWe have all felt the tug at our heart when we see the news reporter on television. He tells of a family in crisis and how they survived. I always wondered what happened to the children. What effects did the traumatic situation have on them? I wondered if they had trouble sleeping or dealing with everyday tasks since the event took place. I may never know but it is good to know that there is help available for kids and their parents.

Sam Feels Better Now is an interactive book that offers children an outlet for their feelings. The book helps kids get their feelings out by using drawings, play, and storytelling activities. The book is written by Jill Osborne, who uses her story to help kids release their innermost feelings and find healing. By working through crisis situations, it has been discovered that children will safely relate to characters in stories that help them work through their own feelings.

Sam Feels Better Now is a wonderful tool that therapists can use to help children retrieve their innocence and enjoy their lives.
