Don’t Tempt Me
Are you ever afraid to go into a store? There is an antique store in our town that I have yet to visit. The store front window is beautiful. When the store is open during the day, they have some of their things sitting outside on the sidewalk. It is a ploy. It is to get me to look over while I am driving down the road. I might see something that I become interested in enough to park my car and wander over. Of course, then I would be close enough to the front door that I would just saunter on in. That is their hope. They lure you in to look at their wares. My friends have told me how good the prices are and how much great stuff they have. I plug my ears. I don’t want to want any more stuff. I know myself well enough to know that if I go in, I will part with some money.

I feel the same way with going to the Pet store–I know if we go in and look at the Humane Society kitties, i will want to walk away with them. I have been strong to this point, but I have been getting weaker each time.
ahhh the dangers of window shopping… i have the same problem. i get this “high” out of finding a great deal and snatching it up right then and there! too bad if i don’t need it… i have since learned to do a lot of shopping online and research stuff before i make any decisions. but the high always feels good!
I’m not actually much of a shopper, so I’m usually safe. But if I find cute jewelry–bracelets in particular–I’m a goner. Good prices make it easier, though, so don’t be afraid. Just focus on one or two things that you really love once inside and leave the rest behind. For another day.
