What Should I Do?

Published by Karen at 11:37 am under a bit of everything

I spent the past hour looking for my charge card. The last time I used it was on August 1st and that was when I got gas at a station in Indianapolis. I called the station and no one turned it in. I have turned all my pants and jacket pockets inside out. Sometimes I forget to put the card back in my wallet and stick it in my pocket. No charge card. Hmmm. I dumped everything out of every purse I own. No charge card. I moved the seats of the car up and back, dug my fingers into every crevice I could possibly check out. I leaned the cup holder cover back and looked, with a flashlight down into the mass of wires. I saw a little flicker of silver. Could that be a credit card? Is it just a wire?

I adjusted my body and got my eyes to focus through the bottom part of my trifocals. I could read the word VISA on the card. Eureka! I found that little sucker. The problem is, I cannot get my fingers down into that skinny spot to retrieve the card. What should I do?

I doubt that anyone else will be able to steal the card from where it sits. Should I replace it? I hate to get a new card number. There are so many things that are hooked into that account number. Our prescriptions are set to be charged to that card. That alone would be a big mess.

What should I do???

It shouldn’t be too hard to get out of there. Get someone with a bit of auto knowledge to take apart that section of dashboard. Probably just 2 screws holding it in

Oh I hate having to get a new card number. I always forgot something that was auto linked to it.

Maybe a long skewer with a bit of tape on the end would pull it out?

Oh! I will try that! Thanks.

I personally rather make a few calls then stress over where my card is. I can’t stand it i get super frustrated when i can’t find something.

any hoot try using tweezers get some tweezers and try to pick it out? if not bend 2 coat hangers and fish it out. chopsticks might also work.

But what ever you do don’t do the trick that Raymond did on everyone loves raymond where he stuck a piece of chocolate bar to the end of a line in hopes that it would stick to the object and fish it out hehe ;D

I would figure out a way to get the card out o there. Someday, you’ll sell that vehicle (way down the road, I know) and you’ll have forgotten that card is there. You wouldn’t want that now, would you?

They make those little metal claw hands. You can buy them at Sears or any hardware store. It maybe small enough to get down there. Or have a little child pull it out. Just an idea!

I loved the Raymond show. Such a goofy guy. Nope. I won’t be trying chocolate bars. LOL

Hubby decided to wait til Stacy comes home next Saturday. She knows how to take a dash apart and put it back together. Works for me!

Goooo Stacy! Every family needs a “Stacy”…someone who knows how to pull things a part then put them back together. :-)

Yep. Our daughter has always been very capable and willing to fix stuff.

Good idea to wait for Stacy. If it were me, I’d take the dash apart, get the card out, but have no idea how to get it back together. I do this all the time, drives my family and co-workers nuts. But hey…I get it fixed or found! I just don’t know how to get it back together when I’m done.

I’m bad about sticking my card in my work shirt pocket while pumping gas, then forgetting about it ’til the next time I need it. Glad you seem to have found a solution!

[...] pay more attention. Stacy was able to get my credit card out of the dash of my car. I talked about my predicament on my other blog in case you are wondering what the heck I am talking about. addthis_url = [...]

So what did Stacy do to get your card out of that tinsy little opening? I hate when I loose coins down into my car because I know I’ll never see them again. But a whole credit card? I bet that was nerve wracking!

She removed two screws and popped the console off. She could reach down and get the card. She is a whiz at taking stuff apart and putting it back together. I guess that is why she enjoys working on helicopter’s electrical parts.
