How You Can Save a Life
Something Lisa wrote on her blog has really struck me. I had no idea the impact that vaccinations make on our world. We are very lucky that we have the access to vaccines. In Africa they do not have access to vaccines and it is affecting their health. Instead of worrying about diet pills that work or other such frivolous matters, we should become aware of the struggles of the less fortunate. The poor people in Africa have no way to sanitize their hands when delivering a baby. They use unclean items to cut the umbilical cord of newborns and pack the cut with dirt. Because of these practices, tetanus is wrecking havoc and even death amongst these people.
*Tetanus spores are found in soil, animal excretion, and can be airborne
*It acts through a production of a a toxin that effects your nervous system
*This disease rages through newborns within days of their exposure to the bacteria
*140,000 newborns and 30,000 moms die from this
*The fatality rate is 70%-100%
*Symptoms include muscle rigidity, painful muscle spasms, inability to eat, and seizures triggered by light or touch
Please read Lisa’s post and find out how, for 5 cents, you can help Africans get the vaccine they need to stop this craziness. Yes, for 5 cents, you can make a difference.

Isn’t it crazy how that as little as 5 cents could save a baby’s life?
Yes, it is crazy. I hope people donate. Instead of paying our football players such big money, they should donate to help these people.
I don’t see how 5 cents is going to save a life, but if that’s true it’s disgusting that wealthy organizations the world over are not donating to these causes. Just one billionaire could make an enormous impact.
