A Tower In My Backyard

Published by at 10:58 am under internet technology & interests

I can barely keep up with all the technology and electronic devices that make our lives simpler, entertain us and keep us connected. Cell phones enable us to do more than talk on the phone. Cell phones are personal notebooks that keep track of our lives. They are also web devices that allow us to check our email and blog postings. No longer are we glued to our desktop computer in order to obtain information.

With all that technology comes the power behind the air waves that allow communication to travel. I have no idea how all that works but I have seen cellular towers popping up all over the countryside. I have wondered how the owners of the property communicate with cell phone companies. How do they negotiate with these large corporations? Landlords and leaseholders in the United States are fortunate to have companies that offer cell tower site promotion. Fortunately, there are advocacy groups that act as the buffer and know the ropes. These companies know how to communicate and let the cell phone companies know about your offer to lease property for their use. Thank goodness there are groups out there that keep prospective landowners from getting ripped off. Companies that promote cell tower sites can be a landowner’s best friend.

I have enjoyed researching how the whole system works between landowners and cell phone companies. It makes me wish I had a patch of land to offer.
