What Would You Do?

Published by at 8:30 am under health

It is a sad day when someone has to ask for money to help them get the medical care they need. I don’t know what the answer is to enable each of us to have affordable insurance. All I know is that Holly needs our help. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer and does not have health insurance. I hope you are not shocked by her lack of insurance coverage. There are many who simply cannot afford to be insured. Our health insurance as a self employed person is out of this world. Fortunately, we have been able to pay the premium each month. We have a $5000.00 deductible on our policy!

Back to Holly’s predicament. You can read about Holly and if you choose, help her get the treatments she need. At best, you may choose to donate to fund cancer research by going to the website at National Breast Cancer.org.

I wish Holly the best of luck. I did not take the op on the paid site as I did not want her to spend more money to get money. This is not a paid post.

Every time we get a doctor’s bill, just for minor things like check-ups, I am always amazed at how much medical care can cost. I can’t imagine the cost if you don’t have insurance, especially since they charge people without insurance even more to start with. How does that make sense?

There has to be a good answer. I just don’t know what it is.

I always feel so bad for people who are uninsured and have tragic things happen I haven’t had insurance for 2 years (including when my daughter was born!). Luckily we have been healthy and I was able to get away with only a few midwife appointments. But I am so grateful that the whole family will receive health insurance through my husbands graduate school program in September. We won’t even have to pay premiums!
