In my previous post I mentioned that we boated for many years. I love being on the water and out in the sun. The thing I don’t miss is all the drinking of alcoholic beverages that some people think they need to have fun while boating. People need more boating education so they would know how dangerous it is to drink while driving a boat. The amount of fatalities among boaters is astounding. Unfortunately, in many states, boating safety education is not required to operate a boat. That is why I am trying to get the word out to all those who operate boats. It is illegal to drive a car under the influence and while some may not know it, it is illegal to operate a boat under the influence. Let’s save some lives and get the word out about boat safety.
