Going to the Fair
Is there a full moon? I am telling you that every nut in our town decided to visit our store today. I am worn out! I don’t think I am capable of selling budget software or anything else after my day. Not even if I was paid a million dollars could I engage my brain in any meaningful discussion. I want to crawl into a cocoon and sleep. No such luck for me though. I am wondering what got into me the day I signed up to work at the fair tonight. I had no idea what my job would be. I thought we might hand out pamphlets inviting people to come to our church. That would have been fun. I found out that we will be working in the kitchen. I am praying for a good attitude. I know it will be fun once we get there. We get to eat the yummy food and only have to pay half price. I need to get going so we have time to look at the exhibits before our shift starts. I love the fair. I hope someone gives out yardsticks and I love getting new pencils. See, I am thinking positive already.

Well, we didn’t get any yard sticks but we got a nice refrigerator magnet and a few pencils. We had way too many people to work the food booth so there was a lot of standing around. We had a good time talking.

Funnel cakes are awesome, even though they are horribly bad for me. I also love deep fried snickers…. the rides are fun too!

I love this time of year fr the fairs. I usually end up submitting vegetables and knitting for judging. Once I entered a cake, but since the cake sits generally for too long to view by the public and becomes not edible, I decided not to do that again. Every year I work one of the food booths for fried dough and have a great time with everyone. We come up with some quarky call out for the food such as “one in the red” for sauce or “naked” for nothing on it. Passes the time and evryone gets into it. Send me a yard stick, I could use one!
