One of the best things we ever did was to put a portable air conditioner in our new “lodge room.” We thought that with all the windows in this room that perhaps we could get by with having enough windows open to get a cool breeze. In the winter it is easy to forget how blasted hot it gets in the midwest. Our humidity is unbearable. I love to have my windows open but so often get a headache from all the pollen that blows in. I have been taking allergy shots for almost two years now. I hope the doctor will say I’ve had enough when I go for my visit in July. I want to enjoy our summer so for now I will sit in the air conditioned room.
