My dogs are so happy because Greg and Taryn are home to give them attention. They don’t even care about the pet supplies I keep to distract them while I work. They have someone to pet them and scratch their bellies so who needs squeaky toys and dog biscuits? Rotten critters. LOL
This was a busy weekend again. I got some sewing done and finished a couple of bags. You can see them over on my Winding Threads blog. I probably won’t see anyone online until Tuesday. I’m taking a class to make a purse. It has a grommet and cording. I have never used those techniques and hope to add them to my purse making. I hope all of you have a great Monday.

I feel bad for Bill Gates. I never would imagine that anyone would feel sorry for Bill Gates but today I do. He stepped down from Microsoft today. That was his baby. He is leaving it in the hands of others. That must be hard. He said it was time to devote efforts to other projects.
From AFP:
While seemingly aloof, Gates has a humorous side.
There are photos of him prancing in a superhero costume at a company party, and he made a comic “Bill’s Last Day at Work” video that has gotten thousands of views on YouTube.
After leaving Microsoft, Bill Gates will remain its largest single shareholder and chairman of company’s board of directors.

I think I shall scream. No matter how carefully I park my car, it gets dinged. Why can’t people take more care when they open their doors. I now have a nice ding in my car door. I don’t want to deal with just a body shop repair site. I want Auto Body Denver. They don’t just do auto body repair. They are the experts in the field of collision repair. Don’t even ask me how I know about collision repair. This is just a ding but I want the best.

This must be the year for weddings. Of course, it could be the age of my kids but we are attending another wedding tomorrow. The groom is a kid I have known since he was in 2nd grade and was in Greg’s class at school. I can remember how he drove me crazy when he came to visit. He wanted to know what time it was and was it time to go home yet. LOL
He grew up and was on the speech team with Greg. He was into radio broadcasting and is doing that on a country station. It is so strange to hear him on the air and think of that little kid I knew. He has come a long way from being that whiny kid who wanted to be home with his mom and dad.
I feel a closeness to him for another reason. He was at our house while his Dad had heart surgery. His mom called from the hospital to say that his Dad didn’t survive the surgery. I will never forget that phone call.
Time has passed and we are in different places in our lives. I cannot wait to see him and enjoy the day with him and his new wife.
Tomorrow, I will enjoy the party and wish him well.

I rarely watch television during the day but I happened to turn it on this afternoon. I saw the Dr. Phil show and it was very interesting. He was giving updates about previous shows. Sort of a what they are doing now show. A mom of deaf and blind triplets was certainly in a better place since receiving help through the Dr. Phil show. An intervener has been working with her children and they have come a long way. Their life is almost normal. It was a blessing to watch and see how appreciative she is for all that the show has brought into her life.

I found the coolest gift online. Photos of objects that represent a letter make up a beautiful Personalized Name Gift. Photos of objects that resemble a letter are put into beautiful frames and make up a name, place or thought of something pleasing. These items would make wonderful conversation pieces. I think they would be a beautiful addition to anyone’s decor. They would make nice teacher gifts as well as a wonderful wedding gift. I have been trying to think of something unique for a 50th anniversary party. I think I found it! Do you see the name Noah in this picture? I think it is beautiful.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a sweeping ban on handguns in the nation’s capital violated the Second Amendment right to bear arms. This is surprising to me. Everything seemed to be on the path where our rights are slowly taken away. I am glad this was changed. It gives me hope.

What do you do for a a great friend who has an awesome personality but cannot find a person to share his life? I have been searching my brain to think of someone to hook our friend up with. He is so lonely. I seriously wish he would utilize one of the Niche Dating Sites. So many people are looking for a match that it is possible to earn income through a Dating Affiliate Program. Singles Cash is a reputable service that could help him find that perfect someone and put a little money in my pocket.

Four Foods on Friday questions have me scratching my head. It isn’t that the questions are hard but that I am so sleepy! So, with toothpickes holding my eyelids up, here is Four Foods on Friday.
#1. Name one cookbook, cooking website or food blog that you frequently use.
Around twenty years ago, our Sunday school class collected recipes from church members and made a cookbook. That is my favorite cookbook.
#2. Do you watch any cooking shows on tv? Which ones? I catch them when hubby has them on. He watches Emeril Live and Rachael Ray. I think our favorite one is Paula Deen.
#3. Are you in a cooking rut? Name a food or dish that you’d like to find a recipe for.
hmmm I can’t think of any.
#4. Share a recipe created by somebody else that you haven’t tried but would like to.
I would like to learn how to cook stir fry and have the vegetables crunchy but cooked. My vegetables always get soggy.
I think that Clair’s recipe for wontons sounds yummy.
