Getting Away
I will be leaving tomorrow night to attend a fun event in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is time for the Mountain Quiltfest. My sister and I are each taking a class to learn how to make a quilt that uses a pattern similar to the log cabin. I have never attempted the log cabin pattern. This pattern is called Five Cards and is said to be similar. I just finished cutting my fabric into the sizes required by the class instructor. It is hard to pick out fabric when you don’t know what something is going to look like. I hope I made some good choices and that the wall hanging will turn out nice.
I started a list of things I want to remember to take. I am afraid that if I forget my laptop, I will have to check into getting a laptop rental. I don’t know if that even exists. I will be bringing my bathing suit so I can enjoy using the hot tub in the cabin we will be staying at during our visit. My sister has stayed in Gatlinburg many times so I left it up to her to pick out our lodging. The pictures of the place look wonderful. Hubby warned me to watch for bears. I know that my sister and her husband have seen bears around the cabins before so I know he is not kidding.
