Sunday
Oh my goodness, I am freezing. Our heater in the lodge room hasn’t been able to keep up with these 10 degree temperatures. I spent most of the day in there because I was sewing and now I am having trouble getting warmed up. I have a quilt wrapped around my shoulders. I also have a quilt wrapped around my legs and my dog, Brody, is laying on my feet. He makes a good foot warmer.
Today, after church, our minister, his wife and another couple went with us to a potato bake. It is held every month at a country church near us. We had heard about it but never had a chance to go until today. We have already marked it on our calendar to attend next month. We had a wonderful meal. It was all home cooked and included about ten different salads along with the all the toppings for the potatoes. The desserts were out of this world. I had a dab of a few things. I tasted peach cobbler, rhubarb cobbler and a yummy piece of chocolate cake.
The chance to talk to our minister and his wife was very enjoyable. It is rare that we get to sit down and find out what their children and grandchildren are doing. We talked about all sorts of things. Buying Branson property was not on the topic list but we talked about many other things. We found out where their kids are living now. I was surprised to find that their youngest granddaughter is having a birthday this week. I didn’t know it, but she was born on Valentine’s Day.
I hope all of you are having a nice Sunday. Mine has been terrific.
