I have a favorite pair of scissors that everyone in my family knows not to mess with. They are my little Fiskars. They have their own sharpening tool case so they should never wear out. I love them because they work so well when making fine cuts in fabric when I work on quilts. There are not many scissors that can cut with precision like my little Fiskars.

I found another reason to like Fiskars.

Fiskars is helping communities! In 2003, Fiskars began Project Orange Thumb which offers grants to communities. Communities then use the grant money to develop their own special community gardens. There have been so many improvements made because of this project. Not only are communities improved physically with a Fiskars Garden, but people get to know each other through the projects and form a bond. These bonds make a community strong enough to keep out the problems plaguing our schools and other organizations.

Fiskars is promoting good things! Spread the word so that people in your area can utilize this great project. Recently, our community had a project. I wish I had known about the Project Orange Thumb at that time. We need to get the word out so that people can begin the process to utilize this wonderful grant program!
