Say It Isn’t So

Published by Karen at 6:53 pm under internet technology & interests

Arggghhh! I just saw, at the bottom of my dashboard page, that Wordpress 2.3.1 is out of date. Holy crap! I just updated a month or so ago. Techie helped me, by basically doing it, and I thought I was good to go for at least a while. Why are they torturing me? Do the PTB not know how this stuff affects me? It makes my blood pressure go up. What seems like an easy thing to do turns into a major ordeal for me. I HATE IT! How can they possibly need to upgrade? Just shoot me and put me out of my misery.

Edit: This should make things a heck of a lot easier. It is an automatic upgrade plugin. I’ll have to run it by my techie guru.

I love that automatic upgrade plugin, it makes life a hell of a lot easier…I’m sure Techie will approve :) In the meantime, just take deep breaths, I haven’t done the upgrade because I’m too lazy to go click the upgrade button…our blogs haven’t killed over so it’s really all good…

I spent the day wrestling with my template and plugins so they’d play nicely with the upgrade. Next thing I knew, it was dinner time. Ugh!

The automatic upgrade thingie doesn’t work for me due to so many template customizations. So they’d better not come out with yet another “urgent” update for a couple of weeks because I *hate* losing my Sundays!

That’s what I am afraid of with these auto things. I have made some adjustments in my side bars and other things that I don’t want messed with.

SHHEEESH! My site still hasn’t been upgraded to 2.3.1, so guess I’ll skip it! Let me know about the plug in, if I should add it or not.

I couldn’t find anything about the upgrade at Bluehost, so might wait a bit and see what happens.

Like the idea but can anyone tell me did I read it right, you can’t go back if it doesn’t work? Last time I tried to upgrade manually it went so badly I wanted to vomit.

It’s about time they have a plugin for this. I get all stressed out too. It’s not the files that I get screwed up on, it’s the database export. I shiver just thinking about it.

I just wanted to tell you that I updated my blog yesterday using this plugin and I had absolutely no hassles. It worked great. Thank you so much.

Oh wow! I am so glad it worked for you. Did you have any upgrades that you had to re-install?
