Useless Towers
When I went to my quilt guild Christmas party the other night, we talked about so many things. We talked about the usual holiday stuff and somehow we got around to the subject of cell phones. It seems that there are some areas in our county where cell phone signals are hard to come by. There are new towers built in the area! I was surprised to find that the towers are what they call dead heads. They cannot be used because of some technicality. Can you imagine going through the effort and expense to have a tower built, only to find you can’t lease it? This is just the type of situation where some regulation needs to be looked into.
Wireless Landlord Association is an advocacy group that supports current and prospective wireless cell tower landlords and leaseholders in the United States. They know the ins and outs of cell tower land leases. They have gone through the process enough times to know how to get things done. Knowing how to acquire leases with major cell phone companies may have been the key to our local towers being used. I hope that whoever owns those towers contacts www.wirelesslandlord.com. We need service!
