Sweeney Todd
Last night when Lynn, Stacy and I went to the movies, we stopped at the poster of the new film that Johnny Depp is in so I could drool a little. Sweeney Todd is going to be fantastic. I cannot wait to see this movie. There is something about Johnny Depp that makes me swoon. Mom, Stacy and I were talking about different actors and how some make us swoon. I don’t find Johnny Depp as handsome as some other actors but he has a way about him that makes me melt.
When he was in Edward Scissorhands, he was so vulnerable that I wanted to rush in and protect him. His poor hands were those big scissors and he couldn’t help himself. I loved the scene when he trimmed all the hedges into animal figures.
The swaggering Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean is also one of my favorite roles of Johnny Depp. I love his goofiness. When he gets into the face of the female actress, his animal magnetism once again makes me drool. I cannot help it! I can still see him being interviewed on the Oprah show. He had on a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He thought carefully each time before he spoke. I hung on every word. I have a fond affection for the word Savvy. One of my most favorite lines in the movie was when Mr. Gibbs was irritated with Jack for waking him. Jack said, “I know how to counter it; the man who did the waking buys the man who was sleeping a drink; the man who was sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking.” How did he say that without cracking up???
I am having trouble deciding which of the two movies is my favorite. I need a tie breaker! Sweeney Todd is sure to be the best! Tim Burton is a genius and so I am sure this movie is going to be one of my favorites. The promotions for this movie are making me crazy to go! You can even visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace! You can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site to see the trailer and get another look at yummy Johnny. The music is awesome. This is an intense story of a man unjustly sent to prison who vows revenge. Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street who “shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again.” Wouldn’t we all love to be a barber at one time or another?
This is going to be an awesome movie.

You’ve convinced me! Looking forward to finally seeing Sweeney Todd on the big screen!
Sweeney Todd will be awesome! Tim Burton knows how to make movies, and especially knows how to write for Johnny Depp. I think this will be one of the best movies this year.
