Myths About Acne
I remember the trauma of having poor complexion at different stages of my life. My acne was very minor when I think back on it but it was a big deal to me! There are so many acne myths that lots of kids aren’t getting the help they need to clear up their acne. Acne.com is a great resource for dispelling the myths and getting real help for skin problems.
I don’t mean to point a finger at anyone and say that they are lying when they say something causes skin breakouts. These ideas have been passed down from generation to generation and until someone dispels the myths they are looked at as truths. Let’s take a look at some of the myths about acne.
1. Acne is caused by dirt.
This is wrong. Scrubbing your face because you think it is dirty can actually cause acne. Too much scrubbing strips your skin of its natural oils and it becomes dry. To compensate, your skin produces excess oil that causes acne. Keep your face clean but don’t scrub or use harsh cleaning solutions.
2. Acne is something experienced only by teenagers and is something they will grow out of. Wrong! I can tell you from experience that I have acne sometimes and I am definitely not a teenager!
3. Greasy foods cause acne. There is no proof that grease or any type of food causes acne. It is important to eat healthy foods so that your skin will be healthy and fight off the bacteria that cause acne.
There are so many more myths that I don’t have the room or time to cover them all. Go to www.acne.com for in depth information. The website explains how to take care of your skin to prevent acne. It also tells you what to do when and if you get acne. It doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Let www.acne.com give you the whole story.
