Do It Yourself
There have been a few times when my husband has gone to install a floor and the customer was supposed to have the subfloor down. The subfloor is down but not correctly. They’ve used the wrong kind of nails. Ring shank nails are a no no. They haven’t left expansion joints between the boards. They used particle board. There are many things that, if not done right, can lead to problems down the road. If they would have just gone to DoitYourself.com and bought the “DoItYourself” DVD, they would have saved time and money.
My guess is that people watch television programs and think they can do the work. Some things are simple and can be done with little guidance. Others need to be done with some instruction. At DoitYourself.com, there are thousands of articles to guide you with your project. There are also, over 100 active forums where you can get information on several do-it-yourself topics.
I believe in the old the old adage, Knowledge is Power. If, for instance, you wanted to repair damaged plaster in your home, you should go to DoitYourself.com and learn the correct way to do the job. There is even a video to watch that gives great pointers! By obtaining the knowledge to do the job, you will save yourself a headache and time.
