This Can’t Be Happening
Last evening, our Bible study focused on [tag]racism[/tag]. I didn’t see the need for a study on this subject. After all, there aren’t cases of racism going on in my world. I was wrong. After reading a post on Marissa’s blog, my awareness of how much racism is still a part of our culture has risen. I thought our country was above that horrible part of how we used to treat each other. I guess not. Racism is alive and well in Jena, Louisiana as you will note in the article, Color of Change.
We need to let the district attorney in Jena, Louisiana, know that we don’t condone this and we expect him to do what is right. You can still make a difference, you can still change the future for these boys. Send the district attorney a letter via the Internet. Sign the online petition. Read about their plight. Tell your family, friends, people you don’t even know, everyone about [tag]Jena6[/tag]. Something must be done to change this situation for these boys. Blog about it.

I cannot believe this is happening either. I signed the petition and sent a copy of the letter in an email to 45 people in my address book. Even sent one to Laura Bush. I really hope some good will come out of this effort. Thanks for submitting it.
