I had a bunch of fun today helping my mom pick out a new laptop. We had an idea of what she needed as far a memory and processor stuff but when we got into the store they all started looking alike. It got confusing.

We had been talking to a great salesman, Tony, when we were in the store a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, Tony was not working today. The guy that was working with us was ok but kept having to find out the answers to our questions. We corrected him on a few things. Luckily, we knew a few things from tagging along with Tina when she bought her laptop and got wireless internet.

Sure enough, he tried to direct us to the automotive department to get an adapter for the car. I had bought an adapter that plugs into my cigarette lighter and then the cord from the laptop plugs into that. The thing in the auto department was very complicated and I’m not sure but I think it had to be wired into the car somehow. Tina had bought one and took it back. She got one like I have.

The sign in the laptop department said that the activation fee for the wireless plan was free when you signed up for two years with Verizon. When we got ready to pay we were told that special had expired a few days ago. Mom told the guy he better take down the sign and she wanted the free activation. She was nice about it. He talked to his manager and while he couldn’t take off the charge, he did give her the amount off the car adapter. That brought the car adapter price down from $51.00 to $12.00. I’m glad he went the extra mile to satisfy a customer.

All in all, we had a great experience. We brought the computer home and I’ll tell you how we got along with that later. I have to get to bed. My mind is running in circles!
