Do You Use LED Christmas Lights?
Have you ever wondered how they keep all the lights on the White House Christmas tree lit? Is it someone’s job to watch and replace a bulb every time one goes out? I don’t think so. It is more likely that the staff uses LED Christmas lights.
When Greg moved into his apartment a few weeks ago we made a trip to the store. He needed some cleaning supplies and he picked up packages of led light bulbs. I questioned him and pointed out that the apartment lamps and fixtures already had light bulbs. He said he wanted the led bulbs because they use less energy and last longer. He is thinking about those bills he is responsible for now. So he replaced all the bulbs with led bulbs. I asked him if I could take the bulbs from the apartment to use and he said no. He said that the led bulbs will last at least the two years he will be in that apartment! He plans on taking them with him when he finishes school. LOL They will be easy to box up and pack because they are nearly indestructible because there is no filament and the LED bulb is encased in a hard plastic.
I thought it would be interesting to do a bit of research on LED holiday lighting and see if that would be a better choice for us. I found that LED lights are safer and are UL approved for end-to-end connection of over 1/2 mile of lights. That must be why the White House uses them! I’m glad they are conserving the tax payers money and staying safe.
