Women of Faith Conference

Published by under a bit of everything

women-of-faith.gif I am so excited! In a few weeks, I will be attending The Women of Faith Conference. I just found out that my favorite comedian, Chonda Pierce will be there! She cracks me up! Her faith exudes from her body as she tells of everyday stuff that women go through but puts her take on it. Then she puts it into her act. I am always rolling when I listen to her.

I Want to Hear You

Published by under family

I was thinking about a service industry that is badly needed. I wish there was a company that was set up to help people who have a hard time hearing. It is amazing how the correct phone can make a world of difference to someone who has trouble hearing over the phone. My mother in-law has started using her speaker phone because she cannot hear through the hand piece of her phone.

The Phone Resource is known for their Avaya business phone and now I can happily announce that they have phones and accessories to help meet the needs of the hearing impaired. The Phone Resource is an online provider of conference telephones, assisted hearing telephones, and special needs telephone devices. Woo hoo! I can’t wait to get this news out to my mother in-law!

Hey Beautiful!

Published by under a bit of everything

I ran across an interesting post on Melody’s blog The voice in My Head. She talks about how men think it is flattering to women when they honk at us or hollar greeting to us. She tells of how, in reality, it embarrasses most of us. Check out her post and see if you agree.

Awesome Gift Baskets

Published by under entertainment

Photobucket
When it comes to thinking up gifts for men, I have a difficult time. That’s when I was glad to find Gourmetgiftbaskets.com. They have a grilling, barbecue and rib basket that I know my husband would like. It includes a roasted garlic peanut sauce and ginger finishing sauce that are sure to make any meal a delicious one.

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a sporting get together and bring out a beer gift basket to celebrate the start of a new season? The Around the World Beer Bucket comes in a larger galvanized steel bucket capable of holding twelve beers on ice. It is a fun way to try different beers because it contains beer from around the world. It also includes a range of carefully selected award-winning gourmet snack foods that are the perfect complement for fine beer. All the details have been thought of! You can sit back and enjoy the beer and conversation.

My kids and their friends would love the Microbrew Beer Bucket Gift Basket. It includes their favorite snack: beef jerky! This isn’t just any beef jerky though. This amazing beef jerky is slow marinated, dry aged, and uses only natural preservatives to create a flavor that words cannot describe. Oh my gosh! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Gourmetgiftbaskets.com accepts credit cards on their secure site. Get over there and have fun picking out your basket! Hey! It can be a gift for yourself!

The Chances Are

Published by under health

More and more people are getting cancer. I don’t know why this is happening. The studies show that we should all eat more fiber. It has been shown to cut the risk of getting cancer in half. Isn’t that worth making sure you eat enough fiber?

I just wish it were that easy. More of my friends are getting cancer and their prognosis is not good. I don’t know why so many people are touched by cancer. It used to be that if you detected things early things looked good. I hope that is the way it goes most of the time.

Getting Settled

Published by under family

Greg will be moving into his new apartment and needs furniture. I’ve already told him that he can take some of our home furniture. The big overstuffed chair will be his! Now if we can find some lamps and end tables he should have what he needs. He is going to take his bed from his room. We think that the apartment complex supplies the grad students with a kitchen table and chairs. Some things we will find out when we get there. He used most of his graduation gift money to buy small appliances for the kitchen. He is into a red theme. He has a red slow cooker and coffee pot. His stoneware is a very pretty reddish black. I’m excited for him!

Beginning

Published by under family

The days are being counted down as Greg is preparing to leave college. He has been at Butler for four years now and has made so many friends with students and faculty. It will be hard for him to say good bye. Many of the kids that he graduated with are leaving and going on to jobs or graduate school. No matter how happy they are to be going on to more things to be accomplished, it is always hard to leave the setting to which you have grown accustomed. Change is hard.
