Thank You

Published by under a bit of everything

When hubby was fishing a few weeks ago, he didn’t know he dropped his $500.00 prescription glasses. He found out when he went to tie a fly and couldn’t put his glasses on. They were gone. There is nothing worse than trying to tie a fly or bait a hook when you can’t see what you are doing. It was an emergency. Back to the shore that boat went. Hubby and his fishing buddy went looking for his glasses and found them. They were on the boat ramp and had been driven over. They were smashed to smithereens.

Hubby went in to pick up his new pair today and when he went to pay, they said there was no charge. They were under warranty! We didn’t know there was a warranty! Hallelujah!

Making Quality of Life Better

Published by under a bit of everything, health

I am thankful for plastic surgeons. We never know when we might be in an accident and need the most skilled surgeon to put us back together. It is amazing what can be done.

I watched a show on television that is about a little girl who was born without her face. They are reconstructing her face. It is an amazing story. She will have many more surgeries. It is amazing how they can fix ears that stick out, reduce breasts and even perform vaginal tightening.

Recently, a friend of mine had breast reduction surgery. It has made a difference in her life. She had so much back ache that it made her lethargic. She has so much more energy now. Another friend’s husband was in a farming accident and had to have his hand re-attached. That man can diaper a baby with that hand!
Yes, we should be thankful for plastic surgeons.

Friends

I think you can tell by my blog that I love pictures. That is why I love it that Drew lets me put his nifty photo-a-day on my blog. That’s it there in the side bar. I never know what the picture will be from day to day. I have seen a cat, a motorcycle and a cool little black convertible PT Cruiser! Don’t forget to check it out and go visit him at the Wired Kayaker.

Topsail Island

Published by under entertainment,family

Lynn and I are going to be traveling to visit our daughter sometime in June. Topsail Island rentals look like the type of lodging we are looking for. They are located in the heart of Surf City on Topsail Island, North Carolina. I need to check with Sand Dollar Real Estate and see if this is near where Stacy lives. It is about 24 miles north of Wilmington, NC. The way it is described is that it is a small island that many families use for their vacations. That sounds ideal! Nice and quiet but with a little bit to do is what I am looking for. I love to sit and watch the boats in the water. The serenity of the island makes it the perfect place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. I hope this works out. I am so ready for a nice get-a-way.

Comfy Scrubs

Published by under a bit of everything

I have been in the grocery and drugstore at different times when people are just getting off from work. I’ve been noticing the cutest womens medical scrubs! I think it is so nice how they are available in such bright colors and patterns now. They even match those cute rubbery shoes everyone seems to be wearing. I suppose, a child would be less afraid of someone who had cute little bears all over their scrubs. They probably show less dirt too. When I worked at the bank, I loved having a uniform to wear. It saved me from having to buy new clothes all the time. When everyone wore a uniform, it cut down on the pressure of having something new and fashionable. That saved me money. I’ll bet the same is true when the gals wear scrubs. They look so comfortable. You can find them at www.uniformcountry.com.

Party Time

Published by under entertainment,friends

Ok, Deidra here is the information you asked for. I ordered Greg’s graduation cake from a lady who is local so that won’t help you. I’m sorry, but I don’t remember what I used for punch but I found a site with great punch recipes that sound yummy. I want to try the green tea and pear juice cooler. That sounds wonderful for a hot day like today!

My suggestion is to have everything done ahead so you can enjoy the day. Relax and don’t feel like everything has to be perfect. Congratulations to Dave!

This is my daughter’s world right now. It is rare that all five helos take off at one time so when she saw the rotors start up she grabbed her cell phone and took this picture. Can you imagine how your heart would beat seeing that magnificent sight? Go Coast Guard!
