My Sinister Side
I sometimes think I have a sinister side. I love to watch documentaries about crime. I watch shows about horrible people like Jeffery Dahmer. I read the book, Helter Skelter and couldn’t go to bed for a long time without checking under the bed first. I kept waiting for Charles Manson to pop out. I watch the Discovery Channel quite a bit. My channel changer gets stuck on channels showing a story about some crime in a small town. I have to stay there and find out what happened, sometimes, only to find it hasn’t been resolved. Did you ever see the show about the woman who poisoned her husbands? I think they called her the Black Widow. The story that still makes me mad is the one where the mother had so many children who died of sudden death syndrome. Why did it take so long for the people in her town to question that pattern in her life? I love to watch America’s Most Wanted. I think I should have been a Psychologist who studied the minds of crazed criminals.

I will be under your bed tonight. I am already in the house. Check the kitchen. There is a carving knife missing.
EEEK! Watch out for Mr. Fabulous there.
I like to watch and read the true crime stuff, too! It’s fascinating and terrifying at the same time.
Those shows give me nightmares, but I can’t stop watching!
Hehe, Mr. Fabulous’ post has me giggling. Did you check under the bed after that?
I get sucked into those kind of things too… the crime shows are interesting, but if it’s a documentary, or Dateline or something like that, I just keep watching. And looking over my shoulder.
I used to watch that stuff all the time, but it’s lost it’s appeal to me now. I think it’s because my husband’s in the police. I don’t want to imagine him being involved…
I love true crime stuff!
One of my fave websites is http://www.crimelibrary.com/
I love reading all the truelife crimes and stories of murder. When I had cable, I watched true crime on A&E all the time…LOL
As you can see, you are not alone. I also like to watch Forensic Files on Court TV.
i like to watch the america’s most wanted show for just in case I see one of them on the street or something. other than that, i can barely stomach shows like that.
I love all that stuff, too! One time I was getting so into it, I ordered the first of a set of encyclopedias all about crime, and it was INTENSE!
I was really getting upset by it, but, had trouble putting it down, you know?
Then there was a girl that worked with me that was studying criminology in college, so I gave it to her and kind of backed off a little bit from my obsession! LOL!
I love the true crime stories too! I just wonder why it takes them so long to figure out who the bad guy is!
Oooh…I went through a true crime phase for awhile a few years back. I read every story out there that my library had!
I would love to be able to watch shows like that because I’m fascinated by true crime, but if I did, I’d never be able to sleep at night!!!
I love true crime, books, movies, lifetime, court tv, snapped, so many of those shows on A & E with the guy who’s voice is intoxicating
LOL You sound like my kids – they LOVE watching the medical mysteries type shows
I have a real approach avoidance thing going on with the REAL CRIME genre. Ironically, I actually applied for the job of criminal pathologists assistant when I was just out of college.
Most wanted is a bit too much for me sometimes. To current and new. I can watch documentaries about past serial killers for days on end, but the “here and now” is far too depressing.
Although, I’m in a CSI phase the past few years. Fiction over truth LOL
CSI happens to be one of my fav TV shows. I like watching horror movies too but if there is a sci fi movie or show on, I will definitely change to that instead.
CSI rocks! *gives hi-5 to Adam*
